SERVICE STANDARDS
Pulse Point Marketing, LLC maintains standards that are higher than many organizations providing similar services within Second Life®. Our organization is structured very similarly to those in the "real world" with policies and guidelines that reflect our philosophies including:
- Mentoring approach to new talent with creative skills, yet require assistance understanding business management concepts to reach full potential
- Measures of success and levels of accomplishment being rewarded with expanded scope of responsibilities and/or promotions within the organization
- Formalized systems for contract services, account and project management
- Requiring non-disclosure/non-compete agreements for AVs on key teams
- Specifying AVs keep "games" and "role-playing" out of the workplace environment
- Maintain a positive, customer-focused outlook
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
In order to maintain the utmost in professionalism and service delivery, each build is assigned a project manager who is responsible for overseeing their a designated build team while ensuring on time deliverables within the scope of a client's specifications and budgetary guidelines. Those who serve in the role of project manager have a similar "real life" expertise.
BUILD COMPONENTS AND PROCESS
Pulse Point Marketing, LLC follows an established step-by-step process to build a sim from either start to finish, or as a complete renovation once we have secured a signed contract. Our overall process ranges from about one to six weeks, depending upon the complexity of the project:
- Pre-build client consultation meeting with our team:
- Account Manager
- Lead Builder
- Lead Designer
Internal team meeting for team assignments and to share client's vision:
- Account Manager
- Lead Builder
- Lead Designer
- Project Manager
- Scripter/specialty skill personnel
- Develop SL “blueprint” and/or 3D model depending on build complexity
- Parcel sections of land (to accommodate media, rentals, etc.)
- Terraform land
- Construct custom buildings
- Place main buildings
- Place minor structures
- Terraform land again around builds to conform to structure profile
- Build and/or set infrastructure such as paths or roadways
- Landscape sim
- Client walk through on sim
- Administrative review, instructions and transfer of objects that are “full permission”
SCREENING AND HIRING PROCESS
Within the perimeters of a medium that affords members much opportunity for anonymity, Pulse Point Marketing, LLC conducts a “virtual background check” and skills assessment to ensure contractors in Second Life® meet our criteria, including:
- Understanding of limitations and general functionality within the medium
- Ability to function within a team environment
- Capable of working independently with a project scope
- Strong communication skills
- Core competencies within general design and building area
- Solid virtual and/or real world experience within area of expertise
- Willingness to learn new or expanded skills
- Maintaining time commitments to meet client objectives
